Dear ECA Family:
COVID-19 CLOSURE UPDATE: Today Mayor Bowser announced an extension to the current District of Columbia school closures through, Friday, April 24, 2020. Considering this guidance Early Childhood Academy will remain closed until April 24th with a tentative re-open date of Monday, April 27, 2020. We will continue to adhere to the guidance of our local health officials. The safety of our students is our first and most important concern. We appreciate your patience and willingness to adapt to changes as we experience these unprecedented times.
Here is what you can expect from Early Childhood Academy during this closure.
We will continue with our remote learning . Our teachers will continue to provide assignments via Moby Max. At this time, all students should be connected to their digital learning platform Moby Max. Our teachers will continue to announce daily skills packet assignments. Teacher will make these announcements as well as any daily communication via Class Dojo. If you are not yet connected on these platforms or are in need of a skills packet please contact the Main Office Monday through Friday from 11:30am-1:30pm. We will continue utilizing the packets provided to students this week. In April we will provide student with a new skills packets for the month.
Remember: Teachers are available to our families via Class Dojo during regular school hours.
Due to very low demand , Tuesday March 24th will be ECA's last day serving lunch to DC residents under 18. We encourage families in need of meal distributions to visit : DC Meal Distributions.
Spring Break will remain as scheduled for April 13th -17th , 2020 . We will honor this time for our teachers and staff and allow them to recharge and tend to personal needs as previously scheduled prior to this pandemic. During this time, we ask that families understand we will be closed as an entire school.
Joe Corbi’s and Poppin Popcorn Fundraiser:
The Joe Corbi’s and Poppin Popcorn fundraiser items will be available for pick up on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in the Multipurpose Room from 12pm-1pm.
This situation is rapidly changing therefore we will continue with ongoing communication regarding lunch distribution, skills packets and school reopening via our website under our COVID-19 Updates tab, social media, email, robot calls, text messaging and Class Dojo.
